This little fairy in pink in called Penny. She lives on the first floor of an old oak-tree. Her skirt is made of flowers and she sleeps in soft moss. The boy's name is Charm. His home is in a lair of a huge pine tree. He is the neighbour of the Squirrel family. Penny and Charm are friends.
Penny is the greatest cook in the forest, she is famous for her berry-pies, pancakes and marmalades. She loves singing, dancing and making music. She can play many musical instruments, she has a flute, a violin, a trumpet and even a harp. But there is one thing she cannot do, however hard she tries: she cannot fly. She has nice little wings, but still, she is unable to get off the ground.
Charm is different. He is a great flyer and a brave little boy. He is not afraid of anyone, not even the cunning Weasel. He loves flying about in the forest, swinging on trees and playing hide-and-seek. Besides, he is a great handyman, he can fix everything. He even promised Mrs Squirrel to build an elevator on the pine tree so that she wouldn't have to carry all her heavy bags.
There is only one place Charm doesn't like. And it's his kitchen. He is so clumsy that he had decided to give up cooking forever. He cannot even make hot chocolate, his favourite drink. So he gave his stove to the Badger family and whenever he desires a slip of hot chocolate, he visits his friend Penny. He flies to her window, peeps into the kitchen and asks:
"Penny, can you guess what I've been thinking of?"
And Penny can.
"A cup of hot chocolate?"
